Under the trade name of FILMEX , W&H offers customized cast film lines for the production of flat film for the most diverse market segments. The product line ranges from single purpose to universal application systems for barrier, PP or stretch film and also includes special equipment such as for surface protection or hygiene packaging films. The FILMEX operates on the chill roll process. With any film construction, be it mono-layer, 9-layer or multi-layer films with 28 layers or more, the melt is cast onto a chill roll for instantaneous cooling. The resulting low crystallinization level guarantees excellent optical and mechanical film properties. The FILMEX is capable of handling all marketable polymer groups such as PP, PE, PA, EVOH, and tie layer resins. The modular concept of the chill roll unit gives outstanding flexibility. Options include vacuum box, suction doctor, air knife, or soft box, matched automation and a variety of roll surface structures. Innovative details such as the swivelling 3-roller-cleaning system, which does away with intermittent lift-off of a smooth cleaning roll, eliminate film marks and improve film quality. The productivity of the FILMEX can be enhanced by PROFILE BOOSTER, the patented system for fast optimized control at line start-up, or a system for encapsulating the film edges with low priced resins.
